A LITTLE PICK ME UP

I've been wracking my brains trying to think of something to write for my February newsletter. If I'm being honest, January 2021 has been a pretty long, grey, and exhausting start to the year. With lockdown in full swing and nothing particularly exciting to look forward to (for me that would consist of an evening in the pub or planning a holiday, neither of two will be happening any time soon) I decided to drop a little pick me up cheat sheet in all of your inboxes... three of my absolute favourite quick and easy cocktail recipes.
COSMOPOLITAN
In celebration of brand new Sex and the City episodes coming out this year I thought what better than a delicious Cosmo to kick off the evening...
INGREDIENTS
⭑ 45ml Vodka
⭑ 15ml Triple Sec
⭑ 30ml Cranberry Juice
⭑ 10ml Fresh lime Juice
METHOD
⭑ Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice and strain
⭑ I like to add a sprig of rosemary to garnish for a smokey taste
PICANTÉ
A deliciously spicy twist on a classic Margarita. Every time I see friends we end up making Picante's by the bucket load and were still not sick of them!
INGREDIENTS
⭑ 60ml Tequila
⭑ 30ml freshly squeezed lime
⭑ 15ml agave syrup
⭑ 3 sprigs of coriander
⭑ 1 slice of red chilli pepper
METHOD
⭑ Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice and strain
WHISKEY SOUR
After becoming addicted to a tumbler of Whiskey on the rocks while re-watching Peaky Blinders (during lockdown 2 activities), I decided to mix it up - literally - and branch out to a Whiskey Sour... I'm never turning back.
INGREDIENTS
⭑ 50ml Whiskey
⭑ 35ml fresh lemon juice
⭑ 12ml agave syrup
⭑ 1/2 egg white
⭑ 2 dashes of Angostura
Bitters
METHOD
⭑ Shake all ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice and strain
⭑ Add the bitters and garnish with either a cherry or slice of orange
